Ruth Duckworth, the international master of Organic Abstraction, finds herself in the company of her peers from the ceramic arts with whom she shares common ground: Gordon Baldwin, Wouter Dam, Babs Haenen, Tony Marsh, Toshiko Takaezu, Carlo Zauli and others including the newcomers Deirdre McLoughlin and Andreya Vivaldi. This Coincides with Ruth Duckworth's first full retrospective opening at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York this January, prior to a national tour. Garth Clark Gallery pays homage to Duckworth's long career on 57th Street as well in a group show with tabletop sculpture by Duckworth in the company of other major artists (Isamu Noguchi, Lee Bontecou, James Brown and others) who have explored a similar language in clay.
