A general idea of what the composition is going to be.

THUMBNAILS
:
Small sketches showing a general ideal of what the fully developed composition will be.
3.
SKETCHES
:
Large drawings that show the development of a thumbnail.
Sketches can still be smaller than the REAL SIZE of the final work.
REAL SIZE
= actual size of the work
Sketches are first done in B/W and then COLOR.
