In her work, she narrates the stages she went through in order to overcome the most terrifying of life experience a person can face: that of being told to have only one year to live. The body of work ends at the stage in which she saw no way out and no hope, but also resignation. She says of herself that only then was she able to fight back and regain control of her life, "Tthat was my exit from a room with no window to one full of light."
She is now perfectly healthy and has already lived many more years than the only one that was given to her by her doctors. There is no trace of cancer left in her body. |
