This student works with the role that beauty plays in our society, and how the loss of it at a young age affects a person’s acceptance of himself or herself. The student’s interest in this topic springs from her personal experience. Diagnosed with an aggressively invasive form of cancer, she undertook extreme chemotherapy to fight back the desease that caused her to lose much of her beutiful, long, curly, black hair.
